This notice is about accounts on PRASHAST Connect: the sign-in that lets the people who run a centre keep its listing up to date. It says what we collect, why, for how long, and what you can do about it. The rest of the site is covered by our general privacy policy.
Who we are
PRASHAST Connect is run by Divit Educational Trust, a public charitable trust. For the personal data in this notice the trust is the “Data Fiduciary” under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: we decide why and how it is used, and we answer for it.
What we collect, why, and for how long
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | It is your account: we send sign-in codes to it and tell you about your claims and changes. | Until you delete the account. |
| Your name | So a reviewer knows who is asking to manage a centre. | Until you delete the account. |
| Your role at the centre, how you asked us to confirm it, and what our checks found (whether your email address is at the centre’s website, whether our code was on that website) | To decide whether you manage the centre. | Until you delete the account. After that only the outcome and the way it was confirmed stay, without your details. |
| If you explain your claim to us instead: your message, and any photo you email us as proof (for example of the centre’s signboard) | So our support team can confirm the claim with you by email. | In our support mailbox, as any email to us; we delete a proof photo once the claim is decided. |
| The centres you add, and the changes you ask for to a listing | So a reviewer can check them and publish them. | As part of the listing’s history, without your details once you delete the account. |
| Sign-in codes | To check it is you signing in. | 24 hours, and only in a scrambled form. |
| A sign-in cookie | To keep you signed in on this device. | 30 days, or until you sign out. |
| A record of what your account did (signed in, claimed, changed, downloaded, deleted), with a scrambled form of your network address | To protect accounts and listings from misuse, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 expect. | 1 year. |
We collect nothing about children through accounts. Please do not put a child’s name, photograph or records in any field.
What appears on the site
Only the centre’s details that you send and a reviewer approves: its name, address, phone number, website, opening hours and description. These are the centre’s business details. Your name and your email address never appear on the site.
Your consent, and taking it back
We use your details only because you agree to this notice when you create your account. You can take your consent back at any time by deleting your account (“Your data” on your account page): it is as easy as signing up. Taking it back does not undo what was done before, such as a change already published on the listing.
Who else handles your details
The trust’s reviewers. Two companies process data on our behalf and may not use it for anything else: Amazon Web Services (our server and database, in Mumbai) and GoDaddy (our email). We do not sell your details, show advertising, or share them with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Like the rest of the site, account pages count visits with Google Analytics. It receives the address of the page, which never contains your name or email address, and not your account details.
Your rights
- See your data: “Download my data” on your account page gives you everything we hold about your account.
- Correct it: change your name on your account page; for anything else, write to us.
- Erase it: “Delete my account” erases your name and email address at once.
- Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to: write to us.
- Complain: write to us (below). We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
What we ask of you
You must be 18 or older to have an account. The Act also asks you to give true information and not to pretend to be someone else: claiming a centre you do not run is not allowed. Such claims are rejected and the account can be suspended.
Keeping it safe
Connections to the site are encrypted. Sign-in codes and sessions are stored only in a scrambled form, the database can be reached only from our own server, and only the trust’s reviewers can see accounts. If a breach ever affects your details, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay.
