Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it. PRASHAST Connect is run by Divit Educational Trust, a public charitable trust, which is responsible for the personal data described here.

What information do we collect?

Reading the site needs no account. Like most websites, our server keeps a short record of requests (the page asked for, the time, the network address and the browser) to keep the site running and secure and to count visits; the counts keep only daily totals, never an address. Google Analytics also counts visits, using cookies. We do not show advertising.

When you write to us through the “Get in touch” form or by email, we keep your name, email address and message so that we can reply.

The people who run a centre can create an account to keep its listing up to date. What we collect for an account, why and for how long is set out in a notice of its own: the privacy notice for accounts.

The directory lists child development centres with business details gathered from public sources such as Google Maps: name, address, phone number, website, opening hours and ratings. If you run a centre and something is wrong, or you want the listing removed, write to us or claim the listing.

We do not knowingly collect personal data about children. Please do not send us a child’s name, photographs or medical records.

How do we use your information?

We use it only for the purpose you gave it for, or as the law requires:

  • Replying to your messages
  • Keeping centre listings correct
  • Running centre accounts
  • Keeping the site secure
  • Counting visits to improve the site

Who do we share it with?

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Service providers process it on our behalf and may not use it for anything else: Amazon Web Services (our server and database, in Mumbai), GoDaddy (our email), Google (counting visits) and Anthropic (an AI service that helps us sort the messages we receive and draft replies, which a person reads before anything is sent). We share it with others only if the law requires it.

How do we protect your information?

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure: encrypted connections, access limited to the trust’s reviewers, and service providers bound to protect it. We keep it only as long as the purpose needs. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay.

What are your rights?

You can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, to correct, complete or erase it, and to withdraw a consent you gave; you can nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to. Write to support@prashastconnect.com with “Privacy” in the subject; we reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
